Making any rustic table setting look gorgeous is not only a matter of buying expensive tableware and accessories, but it’s also about using creativity to add your own personal touch. A small craft project can turn a simple place setting into a statement decor feature that transforms it from plain to awesome.
That’s what this article is all about. We have put together a tutorial to show how easy it is to create pretty silverware pockets that can dress up your table top decor without going on a spending spree.
Get your crafting tools ready and follow our 5 easy steps to create your first Silverware Pocket!
You will need 20 inches of 3 inch wide Burlap Ribbon per silverware pocket. So to start with, cut a strip of burlap that's 20 inch long.
Once you’ve got your 20 inch strip of burlap ribbon ready, go ahead and lay your silverware on top, aligning it with the top edge.
Next, fold the bottom part of the burlap ribbon over the silverware and then fold again. Use image above as a guide.
To finish, take a 1 inch decor ribbon that matches your color scheme, wrap it around the burlap ribbon and hot glue it on the back.
Fluff the Burlap Pocket so it is not flat and adjust the ribbon to make the dimples even on either side.
And here’s your finished Burlap Silverware Pocket! Use it as it is or add dried or cut flowers, a linen napkin and some pretty silverware to create that rustic look.
